Case study January 2019
Sustainable development is high on ENOC’s priority list.
Jebel Ali, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
74 EverGen M Series systems
In the United Arab Emirates, the Government of Dubai operates the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). The ENOC Group comprises 30 related subsidiaries, which are involved in everything from refining to storage to retail.
ENOC has a mission to improve economic diversification and sustainable development using the latest innovations and technologies. For example, in 2017, the company announced all future ENOC service stations would be powered by solar energy, supporting a long-term strategy in line with Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
Also in line with these values was adding solar perimeter and security lighting to their refinery expansion project in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
“People in the UAE are working on green projects with many days of autonomy,” says Syed Junaid Ur Rehman from PEB International, the authorized local distributor for the Sol lighting used in this project.
Rehman and his team provided 13 of Sol’s EverGen M Series solar lighting for the refinery expansion. “There are back-to-back orders because of the quality and technology,” explains Rehman. The second order was for another 61 lights. His team appreciates the EverGen’s four-plus days of backup power, Sol’s ability to customize operating profiles for client requirements, as well as the GPS remote monitoring that this latest product from Sol provides. “Sol is a world leader in solar lighting products,” Rehman adds. “We like that this product is 87% made in the USA, resulting in a high-quality solar light.”
