EverGen 3: How we improved the design and installation

There’s a saying in product design that goes something like, “Good design starts and ends with people.” In other words, the best products aren’t built on assumptions or overloaded with flashy features—they’re shaped by the people who use them and improved through their experience.

The EverGen 3 is a direct result of that process. Built on the success of the EverGen-M, it reimagines the system with the same reliability and performance, but with a lighter, more streamlined design. It’s faster to install, easier to maintain, and built to last.

Every update reflects the needs and feedback of the people who specify, install, and support our systems. When we design for their challenges, we don’t just build a better product—we make it easier to deliver reliable solar lighting to more places with less hassle (which, if you’re new here, is what we’re all about).

No more clunky cabinet

One of the most visible changes to the EverGen 3 is the elimination of the separate cabinet. On the EverGen-M, this enclosure was mounted on the pole to house the batteries and “brains” (our energy management system, or EMS). While functional, it wasn’t exactly the most attractive solution—especially in neighborhoods, parks, and other spaces where aesthetics are a priority.

The EverGen 3 changes that. All core components are now neatly integrated into a compact enclosure beneath the solar panel. The result is a cleaner look, with fewer visual distractions and no external box interrupting the pole profile. It’s a design improvement our customers have consistently asked for—and one that’s even more secure and tamper-resistant.

Pre-assembled power case

A defining feature of the EverGen 3 is its modular power case, which contains two critical components: our advanced SunnaCore EMS and a high-density lithium (LiFePO₄) battery. They work together to deliver grid-like lighting performance with maximum efficiency and stability.

We chose lithium batteries because they’re significantly lighter and more affordable than other technologies, including the lead-acid batteries used in the EverGen-M. That reduced weight is essential for top-heavy solar lights, helping minimize EPA and pole cost. Even with the lighter weight, EverGen 3 systems have enough capacity to last two full nights without solar input, ensuring year-round reliability.

The power case also greatly simplifies maintenance. A quick-access hatch lets technicians service components or replace the battery without dismantling the entire system. Whether it’s a simple battery swap or a complete power case replacement, the process is fast, safe, and straightforward, saving time in the field (and at the top of a ladder).

Built for speed and strength

We didn’t just simplify what’s inside—we simplified how it all comes together. The EverGen 3 consists of just five mechanical parts, all made from pre-galvanized steel for long-term resistance to corrosion and weathering. Fewer parts mean fewer tools, fewer steps, and fewer places for things to go wrong.

This modular, pre-assembled design means a system can be installed in as little as 15 minutes. For large-scale or remote projects, that kind of time savings adds up fast, cutting labor costs and accelerating deployments without compromising quality.

The complete package

Every design decision in the EverGen 3 comes back to the same principle: respond to what customers actually need. Whether it’s the sleeker design, the simplified installation, or the modular serviceability, each feature can be tied back to the insights we’ve gathered from real people in the field.

With the EverGen 3, we’ve created a product that’s not just better on paper, but better in practice. It’s solar lighting that looks cleaner, installs faster, lasts longer, and shines brighter. As we like to say, “It’s everything a solar light should be.”
