Location: Punta de Mata, Estado Monagas, Venezuela
Client: PDVSA–Dirección Corporativa de Logística
Lighting Agent: INER Consultores, C.A.
Overview: When PDVSA started planning construction on a new staff housing complex, they knew street lighting would be a challenge. The local electrical grid was unreliable and difficult to access. PDVSA was also seeking to fulfill a corporate mandate to move towards eco-friendly infrastructure. The street lighting would ensure the safety and security of the housing complex’s residents, so it needed to meet specific performance and reliability expectations. PDVSA sought the help of local green energy experts Iner Consultores.
Project: Looking at all the options, Carmanah’s EverGEN™ 1710 solar LED light stood out, fitting both the off-grid requirements and eco-friendly goal of the project. It also met the performance and quality requirements, and would maintain the safety and security of PDVSA’s employees for years to come.
Impressed with the light and Carmanah’s years of solar LED lighting experience, PDVSA decided on the EverGEN for their project. The first housing complex in Venezuela to feature a solar street lighting installation, it now serves as a model of eco-friendly practices in action, and an example of the reliability of high-quality solar LED lighting systems.

“They were serious about their requirements. What they needed was an off-grid street lighting solution that would meet their mandates and perform to their expectations. We felt confident in recommending the EverGEN 1710 solar LED light to them, knowing that not only will the lights allow PDVSA to meet their situational challenges, they will also provide them with the performance and reliability they need long into the future.” – Iliana Fernandez, President, Iner Consultores
