When we say our systems are built to last, we mean it—and we back it up with a 10-year full-system warranty that’s the best in the industry. It isn’t a flashy upgrade or a marketing hook. It’s simply the way we do things.
We rolled out this approach a few years ago, but the thinking behind it goes back much further. For decades, we’ve been designing solar lighting systems that thrive in the real world—through hurricanes, heat waves, cold snaps, and years of nightly use. Offering a warranty that matches the performance we were already seeing in the field just made sense.
Every Sol system is custom-sized for the project’s location, climate, and lighting requirements. That means that, unlike other solar lighting companies, we don’t trade in cookie-cutter products—we engineer each one to deliver precisely the performance you need, without over- or under-sizing (i.e., adding too many, or not enough, batteries and solar panels).
We’ve been refining this process for more than 35 years, across thousands of sites and applications. In that time, we’ve improved our designs, upgraded key components, and built what we believe are the most adaptive, resilient solar lights available today.
We also feed real-world performance data back into our algorithms, so our energy management systems keep getting smarter. They adapt to how each system stores and delivers power, improving reliability over time.
Our 10-year warranty covers the core components we design and assemble in-house: the solar engine and mounting hardware. These are the heart of the system—housing the electronics, storing and managing energy, and keeping everything running day to day.
Other key components, like the light fixture, solar panel, and pole, are backed by manufacturer warranties, typically ranging from 5 to 10 years. For example, our Acuity Fixtures (like the popular DSX1 and ATB Micro for roadways) come with their own long-term coverage. While we don’t build these parts ourselves, we work only with trusted partners who meet our standards for quality and support.
If something goes wrong, you can still come to us first. We’ll either help you sort it out or point you in the direction of someone who can.
A good warranty should give you peace of mind—not paperwork. We don’t expect you to track down vendors or get stuck in the middle. If there’s an issue, our team will work with you to resolve it quickly and clearly.
When you invest in a Sol system, you’re not just buying a product—you’re working with a team that’s been at this for decades and plans to be around for decades more. We take long-term reliability seriously, and standing behind our systems is part of the job.
